Omicron Kappa Sigma
Omicron Kappa Sigma (or OKS), founded during spring 2006, is the honor society of the All-College Honors Program at Westminster College. The Greek letters stand for ho kyklos sophias, which means "the circle of wisdom." The honor society is charged with cultivating a sense of community among Honors Scholars while promoting the intellectual life at Westminster through events both on and off campus. Membership is limited to Honors Scholars who are in the All-College Honors Program.
The All-College Honors Program believes that the life of the mind is best cultivated when students take what they have learned in the classroom and go out into the world. The program offers opportunities to study abroad and hosts guest speakers and events that expand the boundaries of the liberal arts experience and build a community of Honors Scholars at Westminster and in the world. Annual events include social gatherings each fall and spring, a panel at the College’s annual Professional Networking Symposium, conversations with program alumni, and more. Whether it is dinner with the college’s president, coffee with the dean, or a trip to Greece, students in the honors program enjoy an enriched environment that fosters intellectual vitality, academic rigor, and an understanding of the global dimensions of their actions in the community.
