It All Starts With Your FAFSA
Completing the FAFSA is how you apply for federal student aid, such as federal grants, work-study, and loans. The form is maintained by the U.S. Department of Education. U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizen may complete the FAFSA.
The FAFSA typically opens each year for the next academic year, on October 1. However, this year, the U.S. Department of Education announced that the 2025-2026 FAFSA form will open on or before December 2024.
Make sure you enter Westminster College’s school code 003392 so that a copy of your completed FAFSA is sent to us. Our Office of Financial Aid uses the information generated through your FAFSA to build your individualized financial aid offer.
Once we receive the results of your FAFSA, our Office of Financial Aid will review them and determine the resources available to you. Our goal is to keep your Westminster education as affordable as possible.
Your financial aid offer is based on your individual financial need and eligibility. It may include various types of aid such as Westminster scholarships, grants, loans, and/or work study employment. Eligible students meeting required deadlines are offered the maximum amount of aid available. Merit based financial aid is based on your academic performance. Need based financial aid is based on the results of your FAFSA.
