About the Summer Session


Westminster College Summer Session courses are taught by Westminster College faculty, and are offered in online, blended, or traditional formats, in either eight-week or four-week sessions.

 

 

Admissions Procedure


Currently enrolled Westminster College students:

Currently enrolled Westminster College studentsdo not need to apply for the Summer Session; simply register for the Summer Session via my.Westminster in the same manner as the Fall or Spring semester.


New Students:

New Students accepted for Fall 2024 matriculation may apply for the Summer Session.

Campus Store


The Westminster College Campus Store, located in the Andrew J. McKelvey Campus Center, will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. For additional information, please call 724-946-7216.

Office of Professional Development & Community Engagement

The Office of Professional Development & Community Engagement , located in the Andrew J. McKelvey Campus Center , assists students in planning and preparing for careers. Services include individual career counseling and assessments, computerized career guidance, access to alumni for informational interviewing and networking for the job search, individualized job search planning, mock interviewing, on-campus recruiting and a weekly on-line listing of immediate job openings. Students are also encouraged to use the Career Library which contains information on careers, graduate education, job search strategies, companies, government agencies, and school systems.

Computer Facilities

Campus computing and telephone services are operated by the Information Technology Services located on the first floor of Hoyt Science Resources Center. Campus computer lab will be available for student's use at McGill Library, 1st floor. Lab hours and other information about computer facilities and services are also available on the department website. The Help Desk can be reached at 724-946-6000.

Frequently Asked Questions


May I make changes to my summer schedule?

Yes, by the established deadlines. Each course has its own Add and Drop deadlines, which are published on the Undergraduate Schedule of Classes. To add or drop a class, log in to my.Westminster and find the Registration and Course Search link under the Academics tab.

How do I withdraw from the Summer Session?

If you decide not to complete a summer course, after the schedule change deadline, complete the online Course Withdrawal Form in my.Westminster to withdraw from the course. Because of the varied summer session schedule, each course has its own Withdrawal Deadline, published on the Undergraduate Schedule of Classes. After the Withdrawal Deadline, a final course grade will be assigned.

How do I schedule an internship?

Current Westminster College students planning to serve an internship should:
  1. Consult with your advisor prior to the end of spring semester
  2. Pick up the internship packet at the Office of Professional Development & Community Engagement , complete and return the internship application to the Office of Professional Development & Community Engagement

The deadline summer internship applications is May 29, 2021.

When will final grades be available?

Summer Session Grades will be available in my.Westminster in mid-August.
