About Us

Westminster College is dedicated to supporting students with any disability whether it be mental, physical, or emotional. The Office of Disability Resources works closely with faculty, staff, and students, to create an environment of inclusiveness and support that will guide students through their academic endeavors.

We are here to help students navigate college life through the following ways, which are centered around their personal needs and well-being:

  • Reviewing medical and/or educational records
  • Discussing how previous supports will translate to college
  • Comparing what has - and has not - worked in the past to ensure suitable accommodation
  • Working closely with IT Services (ITS), Residence Life, and other relevant departments to support specific devices and familiar technology, as needed

Solutions for Environmental & Curricular Challenges

The Disability Resources Office is located in 2nd Floor, McKelvey Campus Center, alongside the Office of Academic Success and the TRIO Student Support Office. We facilitate solutions for both environmental and curricular challenges based on student needs and concerns. We strive to provide each student with a positive and fulfilling college experience.

The following list provides some examples of disabilities we support:

  • Autism spectrum conditions
  • Brain injuries
  • Clinical mental and emotional health conditions
  • Epilepsy
  • Hearing impairment or deafness
  • Impaired mobility
  • Learning disabilities
  • Visual impairment or blindness
  • Other health issues, including cancer, diabetes, and food allergies

Students who struggle to access campus grounds and facilities, classes and assignments, or campus events should contact the Office of Disability Resources for assistance. Our staff can provide you with solutions to navigate these situations. We are here to ease your mind and instill confidence while you engage in all that college life has to offer.

Additionally, students are encouraged to visit the disability office if their needs have changed, or plans need to be altered during the semester.
