Student Symposium on the Environment Submission
Students from educational institutions across the region are invited to submit abstracts that highlight their projects related to the environment or the natural world in a variety of categories:
In-Person Symposium
In-Person and/or Virtual Showcase:
Posters, table displays, creative works, and the photo gallery will be displayed during the Networking and Poster Session from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Oral Presentations will begin at 7:30 p.m. Presenters will be afforded 10 minutes (followed by a 5 minute question & answer period) to highlight their work, with audio-visuals, to a group of students and professionals interested in environmental issues.
Oral presentation slots are limited and will be chosen on competitive basis.
Notifications of acceptance will be made by November 25, 2024
Please complete a separate form for each submission (a maximum of three entries per person per category).
The Student Symposium on the Environment is sponsored by Westminster College’s Harms Center for the Environment & the Slippery Rock Watershed Coalition.

Please email env@westminster.edu if you would like to submit multiple photos of the artwork (to capture various angles, perspectives, etc.).
Original artwork can be delivered to Hoyt 171 prior to Dec. 5 or brought to McKelvey Campus Center Witherspoon Rooms on Dec. 5.
Thanks to the generosity of our partners, cash prizes and awards are given to Symposium participants in various categories. Please select one of the options below regarding awards.
I permit Westminster College to take photographic mages of me and/or my work during the Environmental Symposium event and understand the photos may (or may not) be used (with or without my name) in any or all forms and media and in all manners including modified images for the purposes of advertising, publicity, illustration, publishing (including publishing in electronic form on CDs or Internet websites), for any college product or educational services or other lawful uses as may be determined by Westminster College. This agreement includes all audio and video recordings made by whatever means and their use on current and future distribution technology including social media.
