Dance Theatre presents 2024 spring showcase

Westminster College’s Dance Theatre will present its annual spring showcase, “Dance the Night Away,” at 7 p.m. Friday, March 22, and 5 p.m. Saturday, March 23, in Orr Auditorium located on Westminster’s campus. The auditorium doors open at 6:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.

This year’s showcase, with 21 numbers, is based on the 2023 movie “Barbie” and features a total of 31 student dancers—including 10 male students appearing as Kens in the opening number.

Choreographers include first-year Maysen Stewart of Butler, Pa.; sophomores Haley Bell of Franklin, Pa., Monica Curtis of Harborcreek, Pa., Jessa Kinter of Ford City, Pa., Olivia Shafer of New Cumberland, W. Va., and Jess Veon of Cranberry Township, Pa.; juniors Caty Clark of Allison Park, Pa., Alondra Melendez of Rochester, N.Y., and Marisa Saad of New Castle, Pa.; and seniors Zoe Burkett of Rice Landing, Pa., Ovi Deivaprakash of Mount Laurel, N.J., Colleen Dreyer of Butler, Pa., and Kerstyn Pomfret of Sarver, Pa.

Dance Theatre, in its 46th year, is a student organization that is open to student dancers of all skill levels.

This event is open to the public. Tickets are $3 for students, $5 for Westminster College faculty and staff and $8 for the general public. Children 12 and under are free.
