Westminster College’s Student Government Association (SGA) and Sodexo Dining Services will host the first annual Lakeside Craft Fair from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Sept. 17 at the Anderson Amphitheater next to Lake Brittain.

The planning team is currently seeking craft vendors. Student vendors will pay $5 and others will pay $15. Vendors will receive the use of one eight-foot table and one chair.

The event will be held in conjunction with Hunger Awareness Month. Funds from the concession stand and vendor table fees will be donated to New Wilmington’s PB&J BackPack Program.

The PB&J BackPack Program is part of the Community Food Warehouse’s BackPack Program, which feeds over 830 eligible school children on the weekends spanning throughout eight school districts. The program was started through the Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County, a non-profit organization and a member of Feeding America, the nation’s network of food banks.

“The generosity of our volunteers and donors are what drive not only the BackPack Program, but all of our programs, to be successful,” said Lauren Beran, program and volunteer coordinator at the Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County. “We are so grateful to everyone who donates their time and energy to help us feed the hungry people in our community.”
