NEW WILMINGTON, PA – Westminster College will host an old-fashioned Independence Day celebration with a free concert and fireworks at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 3, at Brittain Lake.

The 29th annual concert features the River City Brass Band playing a variety of selections, while Westminster’s own Lauren Faber ’19 and Joseph Spurio ’17 will also be performing. The evening will be capped by a fireworks display provided by Pyrotecnico at 9:15 p.m.

Early arrival is suggested for this family-oriented event. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for seating. Food vendors will be on site, but attendees can bring their own picnic baskets and refreshments.

In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held inside Anderson Amphitheater.

This year’s Independence Day Celebration was funded entirely by community donations. The celebration is free and open to the public, but a free will offering will be taken.
