Dr. Marosh Furimsky, Westminster College assistant professor of biology, presented a poster at the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology held Jan. 2-7 in San Antonio. Dr. John Robertson, associate professor of biology, was co-author of the work.

Dr. Timothy Sherwood

Dr. Timothy Sherwood, Westminster College associate professor and chair of the Department of Chemistry, will speak on "Moving Graveyards: Course, Textbook and Curriculum Reform" at Faires Faculty Forum Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 11:40 a.m. in the Sebastian Mueller Theater in the McKelvey Campus Center.

Westminster College students Keri Biedka and Brittany Bivens presented their research at the American Chemical Society Student Affiliation "In Miniature" Symposium 2009 April 20 at Duquesne University.

"Advantage: Westminster" A Strategic Plan 2010-2020 won a bronze medal in the nation's largest educational advertising awards competition.

Alayna Carroll, a Westminster College individual interdisciplinary major, will present her senior lecture recital Sunday, Nov. 7, at 1 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel. The program is free and open to the public.

The beautiful sunshine of summer also carries with it some baggage that isn't so nice.  Ultraviolet light radiation is a potential culprit that can turn good to bad:  sunburn, wrinkles and, worst of all, skin cancer.  Ultraviolet radiation is monitored and reported as the UV Index from the Travis Weather Station.

Peggy Cox, Westminster College professor of art, and Dr. Ann Throckmorton, Westminster professor of biology, will present "A Cluster to Dye For" Wednesday, March 28, at 11:40 a.m. in McKelvey Campus Center's Sebastian Mueller Theater.

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Westminster College's Young Presbyterian Scholars Program (YPS) will sponsor its ninth annual Global Gift Market Wednesday, Nov. 28, from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. in the Witherspoon Maple Room of the McKelvey Campus Center. The event is open to the public.

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College Celebrity Series will present The Tenors Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium.

Westminster College students won numerous awards in December at the Student Symposium on the Environment.  The event was hosted by Westminster Environmental Programs and co-sponsored by the Slippery Rock Watershed Coalition.  Awards were sponsored by Stream Restoration, Inc.
