Dr. Nancy Zipay DeSalvo, assistant professor of music at Westminster College, plans a piano pop concert Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium.
"I anticipate using the grant money to employ two students over the course of the summer to read microfilm and transfer the contents into a database," said Cuff. "In particular, they will collect the height and other personal descriptive data from the prison registers of the Tennessee State prisons in the 1800s. This data will be used to asses the biological standard of living of lower class Tennessee residents of this period."
David Timm, a junior music education major from St. Marys, won second place in the Junior Men's Division at the annual National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition held at Youngstown State University. Timm is a son of Robert and Sheri Timm, and is a graduate of Saint Marys Area High School.
Westminster College honored 44 employees with a combined 682 years of service during the annual employee recognition luncheon attended by more than 250 current and retired employees May 9 in the Witherspoon Rooms of the McKelvey Campus Center.
