Westminster College alumnus Robert Ostrowski ’85 and Federated Hermes hosted eight students from the Westminster Entrepreneurship Center (WEC) and the School of Business for an informative tour of their Pittsburgh location this spring.

Students had the opportunity to speak with financial professionals about career choices, internships and the world of finance.  Ostrowski, who serves as Federated’s chief investment officer, gathered several finance professionals from the company to offer perspectives on various positions.

The following students spent the day at Federated Hermes:

•    Chris Davis, a junior finance and business administration double major from Sewickley, Pa.
•    Sam Duda, a junior finance and accounting double major from New Kensington, Pa.
•    Ryan Feth, a junior finance and accounting double major from Jefferson Hills, Pa.
•    Mick Hergenrother, a sophomore accounting major from Canfield, Ohio
•    Evan Lewis, a junior finance and marketing and professional sales double major from Elizabeth, Pa.
•    Dylan Llewellyn, a junior finance and accounting double major from Murrysville, Pa.
•    Morgan Murphy, an honors student and sophomore finance and marketing and professional sales double major from Yardley, Pa.
•    Mike Orsi, a senior business administration and finance double major from Pittsburgh, Pa.

“My experience at Federated Hermes was nothing short of incredible. I gained valuable insights and knowledge from plenty of successful professionals within the investment industry,” said Feth.

Fellow student Murphy agreed.

“We spoke to numerous analysts who gave us helpful tips and put a career in finance into a new perspective. This visit also allowed us to network directly with people in Pittsburgh,” said Murphy.

Eric Gaber, School of Business faculty member and WEC director, and Dr. Jennifer Tuttle Waldo ’90 assistant professor of business administration, joined students at Federated Hermes. Alumnus Dante Sienko ’20, internal regional consultant at Federated, also met with students.

“For me it was very interesting seeing the trading floor and then also being able to talk to a couple of the people who worked on that floor and ask them questions about what they do in their day-to-day work life,” said Hergenrother.’

Federated Hermes is a global leader in active, responsible investment management and helps investors target a broad range of outcomes.
