Westminster College’s Family Day is just around the corner. Families of Westminster students are invited to campus on Saturday, Sept. 14, to visit, explore and make lasting memories.

Parents, siblings, grandparents and other family members will have the chance to check out classrooms, walk around campus, enjoy a meal on campus and experience the atmosphere at the Titan Football home opening game.

“Family Day is an opportunity for families to visit their son or daughter at their home away from home,” said Connie McGinnis, Family Day organizer and director of parent relations. “Some families just want to come back and relax and enjoy our beautiful campus spending time visiting the Foster Art Gallery or the Field Station or grabingb a bite to eat at Galbreath Dining Hall or taking in a football game.”

McGinnis said this year families can head uptown to the Family Day Marketplace—running from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fresh Marketplace, 129 Chestnut St., New Wilmington—where they can enjoy live music, food offerings, raffles and vendors.

“Simply spending family time together is enjoyable. It’s always a fun day and after a few weeks on campus, a family visit is usually quite welcomed and appreciated by the students,” McGinnis said.

Families are welcome and encouraged to participate in optional organized activities provided throughout the day or spend time catching up with their student.

A brief schedule for the day includes:
•    Family Day Welcome Center: 8:30 a.m.-noon
•    Westminster Family Selfie Contest: 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
•    Meet & Greet with President Kathy Brittain Richardson: 9:30-10:15 a.m.
•    Visit the Cultural Center: 10-11 a.m.
•    Visit the Office of Academic Success: 10-11 a.m.
•    Family Day Brunch: 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
•    Visit the Westminster Bee Company: 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
•    Visit the Hoyt Greenhouse: 12 p.m.-1 p.m.
•    Westminster vs. Waynesburg Football Game: 1 p.m.

The Foster Art Gallery will also be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Campus Store will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
