The Westminster College Trumpet Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble and Ceòl na Teud will perform at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at the New Wilmington Borough Park Amphitheater as part of the Beyond the Quad Art Series.

The Westminster College Trumpet Ensemble, which performed at the amphitheater’s 2021 grand opening, will open the evening. The ensemble is under the direction of JaKobe Henry, teaching fellow.

Ceòl na Teud, a Scottish traditional music ensemble, will feature a line-up of fiddles, guitar, mandolin, flute and bass. The ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Melinda Perttu, professor of music, will perform traditional Scottish tunes such as “Scotland the Brave” and “Roads to the Isles,” along with jigs and the Westminster Alma Mater, all performed in the traditional Scottish style.

The Westminster College Jazz Ensemble, also conducted by Henry, will close out the performance with a variety of unique musical styles including New Orleans jazz, Latin jazz and swing.

The Beyond the Quad Art Series, which aims to connect Westminster students and the New Wilmington community through the arts, is supported by Westminster alumni Bob and Debby Caleskie Jewell, both 1980 graduates, and coordinated by the Center for Professional Development and Community Engagement at Westminster College.

In the event of inclement weather, the concert will not take place.
