More than 300 students from Westminster College and the Wilmington Area School District (WASD) showcased their artwork in the recent Environmental Art in the Community and the judges have announced the winners.

The showcase featured creations from students in third grade through college which were displayed from at various business locations along New Wilmington’s Market Street from Nov. 5 to Dec. 5.The exhibition included a variety of creative formats such as water color paintings, mixed media, sculptures, photo essays and creative writing.

The Fan Feedback Award was given based on community feedback gathered through a link associated with the showcase. All other awards were decided by a panel of volunteer judges.

“All of the pieces of art here are very cool. Especially the paintings of the animals. It was really cool to learn about the different animals and all of the paintings were very impressive,” said one community member who provided general feedback on artwork displayed at Shenango on the Green.
