Westminster College is one of the nation's best institutions for undergraduate education, according to The Princeton Review, the New York-based company known for its test-prep and education services.

Westminster College is featured in the 2005 edition of The Princeton Review annual college guide, The Best 357 Colleges.  Westminster is also honored as one of "Best 115 Colleges in the Mid-Atlantic," and its theatre program was ranked 16th in the "Great College Theatre" category.

The guide's editors describe Westminster as a place "where professors have a genuine passion to teach, and enjoys an excellent reputation for combining tough academics with real-world preparation."

"Westminster students are the type of people who open doors for each other, smile and say 'hi' even to those they don't know, and immerse themselves in extracurriculars and community service," the editors' added.

Students surveyed by The Princeton Review said, "Professors make you welcome to talk with them outside of class, visit their homes, and even eat meals with them."

"We regard the schools in this book as the crème of the crop institutions for undergraduate education," according to Robert Franek, author of The Best 357 Colleges.  "Only about 10% of the colleges in America, and only two Canadian colleges are in the book.  Each one offers an outstanding academic program.  We select schools for the guide based on our knowledge of and visits to them, on data we review about them, and on the opinions of independent college counselors, students and parents we talk to and survey."

The rankings are based on The Princeton Review's survey of 110,000 students.  Additional information about the guide is available at www.PrincetonReview.com
