Westminster College announces several personal enrichment and leisure courses to the community.  Continuing Education classes and seminars are non-credit and are open to all interested individuals.  Formal admission to Westminster College is not required.

Total Yoga is scheduled on Mondays, Feb. 4-March 4, at 5:30 p.m., and is taught by Kathy Birkholz.  This class will focus on proper breathing form and alignment.  Poses provide gentle stretching that acts to lubricate the joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and other parts of the body.  Stress reduction and meditation are a vital part of these sessions.

Power Yoga is scheduled on Tuesdays, Feb. 5-March 5, at 6 p.m., and is taught by Kathy Birkholz.  In this class, students will learn all the "Asanas" poses.  The difference between this class and Total Yoga is the speed in which the class flows through the poses and the length of time poses are held.

Saving Face is scheduled Thursday, Feb. 7, at 6 p.m., and is taught by Kathy Birkholz.  Just like the rest of the body, the face has muscles that can be toned.  This session offers timeless advice on how to tone those muscles and lessen the onset of wrinkles.

What to Do After You Have Lost Your Job is scheduled Saturday, Feb. 9, at 10 a.m.  This workshop, which is sponsored and taught by the Lawrence County Social Services, will help you to cope with the loss of a job, reveal your untapped resources, and demonstrate how to plan your next move.  This session is free and open to the public.

Effective Resume Writing is scheduled Saturday, Feb. 16, at 10 a.m., and will be taught by Janet Waugaman and Jackie Meade of the Westminster College Career Center.  This seminar introduces students to successful job search techniques and resume writing skills.  Items covered include the hidden job market, the application process, and various types of resumes, including electronic.

Computers for Seniors are five separate classes scheduled in February, and will be taught by Carroll Shaw of the Westminster College Information Systems Department.  Five separate slow-paced mini-sessions, designed for people who may be new to the world of personal computers, will provide students with individualized attention to learn at their own pace, while having fun in a friendly and informal atmosphere.
