Peace Studies Coffeehouse Features Two Iraq War Vets

Posted on Tuesday, September 26, 2006

The Westminster College Peace Studies Coffeehouse series features two Iraq War veterans Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 4:15 p.m. in the Berlin Student Lounge of the McKelvey Campus Center.

Major Scott Mackenzie, Westminster assistant professor of theatre, and Major Michael Teifke, were both deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and will speak about their personal experiences and answer questions from the audience.

"As our media swirls around speculations of an Iraqi civil war and an increasing terrorist threat for the United States, we are left to wonder What's going on?'" said Dr. Sherri Pataki, Westminster College assistant professor of psychology and coordinator of this event. "This coffeehouse will give you the opportunity to speak firsthand with two military officers who recently returned from a year-long tour of duty in Iraq."

The event is free and open to the public. Members of the audience may, if they wish, submit questions anonymously, to Pataki at patakisp@westminster.edu or may ask questions at the event.

Contact Pataki at (724) 946-7361 for more information.
