Dr. Deborah Mitchell, Westminster College associate professor of English, and Dr. Betsy Ford, Westminster College English professor Emerita, will deliver the fourth in the ongoing series of Bleasby Colloquia on Thursday, March 22, at 7 p.m. in the Sebastian Mueller Theater located in the McKelvey Campus Center.

Mitchell and Ford will speak about their new book, Filming the Lives of Queens: Hollywood and the Royal Biopics. The two read many biographies and primary sources about the queens they were studying to see how their real lives translated to film.

"In our current project, we discovered that the lives of powerful women have fallen into several narrow interpretations," Ford and Mitchell said.

Mitchell, who has been with Westminster College since 1992, earned her undergraduate and master's degrees at Youngstown State University and her Ph.D. at Case Western Reserve University.
Ford taught at Westminster from 1989-2005. She earned her undergraduate and master's degrees from Youngstown State University and her Ph.D. from Kent State University.

This colloquium is part of a series of events scheduled for the George Bleasby Colloquia, a series of literary events in honor of Dr. Bleasby, who chaired the Department of English at Westminster from 1954-75.
