Westminster College is hosting "Moving School Systems Into the 21st Century: Creating a Vision for an Information Age Instructional System" Aug. 6-7, from 8:30 a.m.-2:15 p.m. each day at the McKelvey Campus Center.

This seminar, presented by the Westminster Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, is for educators and school district leaders and will focus on the need for school systems to break out of the current dominant approach to schooling created during the Industrial Age, and to meet today's standards set by the Information Age. Organized as a team-based, interactive seminar, the workshop provides an opportunity to enhance the skills of school district leaders while enabling participants to earn continuing education hours.

Charles Schwann, co-author with William Spady of Total Leadership and presenter of this seminar, has been conducting a series of interactive sessions on leadership performance change at select sites across the country. He believes that school systems must move from the current Industrial Age structure to an Information Age model in order to remain relevant.

This two-day program is partially funded by the Grable Foundation. A fee of $100 per participant covers a continental breakfast, lunch, and all materials. Individual registrations will be accepted, but teams are preferred. Registration is due July 9, and fees are payable by July 30.
