Peace Studies Coffeehouse to Focus on Anti-Semitism and the Holocaust

The Westminster College Peace Studies Coffeehouse on anti-Semitism and the Holocaust will be held Wednesday, March 25, at 5:15 p.m. in the Sebastian Mueller Theater of the McKelvey Campus Center.

The event is free and open to the public. It is co-sponsored by Westminster's Peace Studies program and the Help Educate Against Racism (H.E.A.R.) Committee.

Speaker Rabbi Daniel Roberts is senior rabbi of Temple Beth Israel in Sharon. Prior to his arrival in Sharon, Roberts was senior Rabbi at Temple Emanu El in Cleveland, Ohio, for 35 years. He actively pursued interfaith dialogue, spearheading the formation of a coalition between Temple Emanu El and Antioch Baptist Church to enhance African-American Jewish understanding, and an annual discussion group with Church of the Saviour.

Actress, writer, producer, and director Elaine Rembrandt will present a theatrical performance. She has been performing her one-woman shows nationwide for 18 years. A teacher and director of children's theatre, she has published Heroes, Heroines, and Holidays - Plays for Jewish Youth, a book of her plays for middle and high school students. Her video Montefiore: A Century of Commitment earned the prestigious Women in Communications Award for best audio-visual production. Rembrandt served 10 years as cultural arts director of the Jewish Community Center of Cleveland and was artistic and managing director of the Halle Theater.
