Dr. SoYoung Kang, Westminster College assistant professor of education, is a co-editor of Poverty, Education and Development, recently published by Nova Science Publishers.

The book addresses the state of poverty and its effects on education and development. It is organized in two sections: the first focuses on poverty and socio-economics; the second focuses on poverty in relation to gender.

In addition to editing, Kang authored chapter 11, "Relational Poverty: Enrichment through Care Theory."

Kang, who has been with Westminster since 2007, earned an undergraduate degree from Korea University and master's and Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee.
