Dr. R. Tad Greig, Westminster College associate professor and director of bands, was the guest speaker at the Neshannock Marching Band's annual banquet March 2 in New Castle.
Greig's presentation to students, parents, and educators covered the significance of music in the schools; the relationship of academic excellence and music skills development; and the significance of community relationship and pride fostered through school marching bands.
Greig, who serves as chair of Westminster's Department of Music, joined the faculty in 1995. He earned an undergraduate degree from Grove City College, master's degree from Youngstown State University, and Ph.D. from Kent State University.
