Students Awarded Scholarships from The Pittsburgh Foundation

Five Westminster College students recently received scholarships from the Ann M. Kendlehart Scholarship Fund of The Pittsburgh Foundation

Each student was awarded $2,508.60, which will be applied to their tuition for the 2014-2015 academic year.

Darcie Gilson, a junior business administration major, is a daughter of Douglas and Deborah Gilson of Mercer and a graduate of Mercer Area High School.

Keri Hamilton, a senior international business major, is a daughter of Jack and Linda Hamilton of Coudersport and a graduate of Coudersport Area High School.

Makenzie Logan, a junior business administration major, is a daughter of John and Barbara Logan of New Castle and a graduate of New Castle High School.

Colton Miller, a junior financial economics major, is a son of Deona Miller of McDonald and a graduate of South Fayette High School.

Scott Raley, a senior business administration major, is a son of William and Gail Raley of Butler and a graduate of Butler Area High School.

"We are grateful to The Pittsburgh Foundation and their scholarship funds for their support of bright, motivated students, who represent the future of our region," said Grady Jones, Westminster's vice president for institutional advancement.

The Pittsburgh Foundation is one of the oldest community foundations in the United States, awarding more than $41.1 million in grants to a vast array of nonprofit organizations, students through scholarships, and medical researchers in 2011.  Since 1945, The Pittsburgh Foundation has been connecting its generous donors with the critical needs of the community.  Donors who have established funds through the Foundation can support virtually any area of charitable interest anywhere in the U.S.
