Professors Will Present Research on Lunar Misconceptions

Two Westminster College education professors, Dr. Patrick Krantz and Dr. Eileen Morelli, will present "Lunar Misconceptions, Children's Literature, and the Development of the ECLiPSE Instrument" Wednesday, March 1, at 11:45 a.m. the Sebastian Mueller Theater located in the McKelvey Campus Center.

 "Our research is related to children's conceptual development of ideas on the phases of the moon," Krantz said.  "Connections will be made to children's literature as well as the formation of misconceptions."

Faculty Forum, established in 1990, serves as a venue for the exchange of ideas and information among Westminster College faculty.  Speakers present their research, teaching ideas, lectures, performances, special programs, and uses of technology to keep faculty informed about the work of colleagues from many disciplines.

 Krantz, who has been with Westminster College since 2002, earned his undergraduate degree from West Virginia University, his master's from Northwest Missouri State University, and his Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  Contact Krantz at (724) 946-7181 or e-mail krantzpd@westminster.edu for more information.
