Joseph Gill, 2003 Westminster College graduate, will speak at the Alpha Phi Omega conference in Toledo, Ohio, Oct. 24-26.

Gill, who had nine bouts of meningitis as a child, had pneumonia six times, and lost his hearing at age five, will speak about "Motivation and Inspiration."

"I will speak about all the illnesses I had as a child, and how I overcame the problems with losing my hearing," Gill said. "It took years to overcome the abuse from my peers because of my deafness. Some teachers labeled me both deaf and dumb. In high school, I lettered four years in track and two years in cross country. These sports helped me earn respect."

Alpha Phi Omega is a national, coed fraternity dedicated to leadership, friendship, and service with over 600 chapters across the country.
