Bright Futures Early Intervention Program

Westminster’s Bright Futures Early Intervention Program, made possible through a long-standing partnership with the Marion G. Resch Foundation, prepares students to successfully transition from secondary to postsecondary school.

Each summer, select students from Memorial High School and Northeast Ohio Impact Academy in Campbell, Ohio are introduced to college through a week-long residential experience. Participants engage in several academic mini-courses designed to nurture intellectual curiosity and topics that range from beekeeping to robotics to photography. Academic courses are augmented by professional development workshops, cultural enrichment events, and athletic activities.

Bright Futures students also receive mentoring and support during the school year through two programs: the Academic and Career Mentoring Program and the Cultural Enrichment Program. Components of the Academic and Career Mentoring Program are:

  • Academic Workshops in reading, writing, and math
  • Weekly Academic Peer Tutoring in math and sciences
  • ACT Preparatory Courses leading to successful ACT test completion
  • Post-Secondary Education Campus Visits to regional colleges and universities

Through the Cultural Enrichment Program, students are able to attend select Westminster College Celebrity Series performances and cultural events.
