Westminster College Professor's Sports Economic Research Accepted for Publication;

Dr. Peter A. Groothuis, associate professor of economics at Westminster College co-authored a research paper measuring the economic benefits of the NHL's Penguins to Pittsburgh. His research will be published as the lead article in the February issue of the Journal of Sports Economics. The study was also cited in an economics feature in the Nov. 20 issue of Business Week.

Westminster College Senior to Perform Trombone Recital

Jeanetta Antus, a senior music education major at Westminster College, will perform a trombone recital Friday, May 16, at 7:30 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel.

Her program includes "Morceau Symphonique" by Alexandre Guilmant, "Romanza Appassionata" by Carl Maria von Weber, "Sonata in F major" by Benedetto Marcello, "Concertino for Trombone and Orchestra" by Lars-Erik Larsson, and "Lassus Trombone" by Henry Filmore.

Graduate Student Received Drinko Grant to Present Research

Kristen Sargent, a 2007 Westminster College graduate and current student in Westminster's graduate program, received a travel/presentation grant from Westminster's Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning to present her research at the Association for Biological Laboratory Education (ABLE) conference June 10-13 at the University of Delaware in Newark.
