WKBN reporter, alumna to speak at Westminster College

Westminster College alumna Hanna Erdmann ’20, a multimedia journalist with WKBN-TV in Youngstown, Ohio, will share the story of her professional journey as part of Westminster College’s School of Communication speaker series at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, in Mueller Theatre in the McKelvey Campus Center.

Erdmann, who joined WKBN as a production assistant in 2019 while still completing her undergraduate degree, will discuss how her Westminster education prepared her for a career in television. Prior to her current role, Erdmann has served as a weekend meteorologist, a digital marketplace reporter and morning reporter at WKBN.

Erdmann will hold a Q-and-A session with students following her remarks.

While at Westminster, Erdmann she was a reporter for the school news station, Westminster Cable Network. She also was a sideline reporter for the men’s and women’s basketball teams for two years.

Originally from Florida, she earned her bachelor’s degree in broadcasting and media production in 2020.

The event is free and open to the public.
