Seven Westminster College vocalists will be performing with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO), under the direction of PSO Associate Conductor Moon Doh on Friday Nov. 22 and Sunday, Nov. 24 at Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh.
As the holiday classic film “Home Alone” is shown on the big screen, the PSO will perform John Williams’ iconic score live and in sync with the movie. Westminster students will sing choral music from the second half of the film, including “Carol of the Bells,” “Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas” and “Candles in the Window.”
“This is an incredible opportunity for our students to perform alongside some of the most talented musicians in the United States,” said Dr. Ryan Keeling, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities at Westminster.
The student vocalists are:
• Abigail Christy, a first-year chemistry and music double major from Mercer, Pa.
• Anna Hall, a first-year psychology and music double major from Carnegie, Pa.
• Amelia Klinar, a sophomore double majoring in music performance and strategic communication and social media from Canonsburg, Pa.
• Elena Macdonald, a junior double majoring in psychology and music as a second major from Atlantic Heights, N.J.
• Jane Patterson, a first-year English major and honors student from Newville, Pa.
• Savannah Telshaw, a first-year music education and psychology double major from Edinburg, Pa.
• Alexandra Webster, a junior music education major from Oil City, Pa.
Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24. For tickets, please click here.
