JONAS CLARK ’25
Accounting & Finance Major
Montgomery Village, Md.
Jonas Clark, a senior from Montgomery Village, Md., is a dedicated and driven accounting and finance major at Westminster College. With a passion for numbers and an eye for detail, Clark has made the most of his time at Westminster.
For two consecutive summers, Clark has had the opportunity to intern with Matthews International Corporation’s income tax department where he was able to develop his hard and soft skills.
“I am very grateful for these experiences because they have helped me acclimate to the professional world and gave me insights into what it takes to be successful in the accounting industry,” Clark said.
Aside from intern experience, Clark also participated in the Drinko Center for Undergraduate Research’s Summer Research Fellowship program, collaborating with two professors researching accounting and finance education in K-12 institutions.
“Having the opportunity to work alongside successful professionals to research allowed me to refine my own research, writing and analytical skills,” he said.
Beyond academics, taking a trip to Alaska with the Office of Faith and Spirituality on a two-week service trip in May 2023 proved to be a transformational experience for him. The opportunity challenged his world view, and he developed a deeper appreciation for the privileges in his own life.
“This experience allowed me to create bonds with other students and faculty that will last for the rest of my life,” he said.
Clark’s involvement at Westminster extends to campus life, where he has been an important player of the men’s lacrosse team and active member of Habitat for Humanity. He also serves as a peer tutor at the Student Success Center, helping students excel in the classroom right alongside him.
Reflecting on his time at Westminster, Clark is particularly grateful for the mentorship and encouragement he received from the School of Business, crediting professors Dr. Jesse Ligo and Keith Bittel with guiding his academic success.
“Both of them have been supportive and encouraging since the first day I was on campus,” he said.
As Clark nears the end of his time at Westminster, he looks forward to the next chapter. His hard work and ambition have earned him an exciting opportunity—he has accepted an offer to join the international tax team at Deloitte in Pittsburgh upon graduation.
“Westminster is full of amazing opportunities and great people,” said.
